At 9:00am, I was on the road running for day one of the three days innovation challenge event. A night before the event, the team leader requested the comitee in charge to be on ground by 8:00am. I consented but since I had no plans of being actively involved in the program, I prolonged the sweetness of my morning sleep abit longer than promised. While on my way, I glanced on my phone with my eyes brimming for what time it was, but I noticed I had unread messages on our project group. Guess what? Our team leader had scheduled roles for the day and I was asked to MC the 3 days innovation challenge event.
The moment I saw the message, I instantly disputed the request. I hinted at a friend’s name that I considered fit for the job. At my core I was sure I couldn’t deliver. I reached out to that friend and promised to pay him if he took on the responsibility. Rich girl vibes!😂😝🙈.But still, my friend didn’t take on the offer. My plea wasn’t given attention therefore I decided to meet with our leader eye to eye. In my words I told him, “Do you know how big this event is”? Why do you want to ruin it? My words passed him like water streaming into a basket, He wasn’t moved by any. He rather asked me to calm down and prepare to execute. At that moment I knew this MCing thing was getting real😂😂😂.My heart was racing so fast. I excused myself for a few minutes to inform 2 people in my corner just in case I didn’t survive through the day. 🤣😂🤣Astonishingly, they affirmed I was perfectly fit for the assignment. The cat in me metamorphosed into a lion. The power of affirmations. 😉
Did the fear go away even after the affirmations? No, it didn’t but I was reminded to embrace the person that I am. It’s effortless for me to play around with the written words on this platform in the wee hours of the night because I know no one is watching. But when I am given a microphone in a multitude of people sometimes words fail me. Think of those moments when you offer your close people side hugs, withholding yourbody and intimacy.
At that moment I had to walk in my true identity without fear,I delivered to the best of my knowledge as per then, second day came, and third day and I was the best MC in town.
The judges reached out to me after the event thanking me for being such a good Mc and someone reached out to me askingme to host their upcoming event. Can you imagine?
Thank you so much Mr. Elliot Mugisha for calling out Greatness in me.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.

Eeeiihh, even me I am shocked you are a good MC. Hehehehe. Are there videos of you mceeing so I watch ko. I know you to have many strengths but haven’t seen the bit of mceeing. Need too.
