One of the things I derive pleasure from, is living a life of faith. I relish casting my tomorrow in the hands of the highest power and following the rhythm cast unto me, not the standards of this world.
I lost my job two months before I came to South Korea. Many of my people were concerned and urged me to start a business with the bit of savings I had. I made them aware that I couldn’t start a business because I believed my time to travel outside of Uganda had reached. That same money was to be used to cater for the necessities I needed for the success of my journey. It didn’t make any sense then, but after a short while, I got a study scholarship to travel to South Korea, and I was to pay for my air ticket.
In Genesis 22! We see God putting Abraham`s faith to the test when He asked him to sacrifice his only son. Abraham adhered and took his son with him to Moriah to be offered as a burnt offering. Still, when Isaac (Abraham’s son) asked his father where the animal to be offered as a burnt offering was, He mentioned that God Himself was to provide a lamb for himself. We also see in verse 5 before Abraham set off to the mountain to offer the Sacrifice, he told his young men to stay behind with the donkey, “the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you!”
Abraham acted out of faith and told his son that the Lord himself was to provide a lamb for himself, and again he told his men that he and the lad were to come back after the offering was made. It indeed happened, as he said.
This keeps me pondering about the many stories in the bible and the life we live now!
For example, in Mark 10, when the blind man came to God for healing, God asked him, “what do you want me to do for you“?, something which was obvious the man wanted to heal, God saw he was blind, lol, but that didn’t deter him from asking what the man wanted. After he said he wanted to be healed, God healed him and went ahead to tell him that his faith has made him well.
So before I sign out this week, I would love to ask us? What do we want to do with our lives? And what are we doing about it?
Also, to leave us pondering on Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
Big Heart!
I am a witness to your life of faith. And I learnt some years ago from you to live a life of faith.
You always challenged me.
God bless.
Thank you for this piece.

Amazing how you have just made me learn the Abraham faith. I have never read that scripture like that. I always thought Abraham was clueless about what was going to happen to Isaac. He actually knew that God was so good, that His blessings add no sorrow😮wow
Thanks Vee
